DROWNING CASE RESOLVED FOR $1,000,000.00
Our clients were the wife and daughter of a Chinese citizen who drowned at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia while vacationing. The allegations of negligence against the hotel and lifeguard company included dirty water, excessively warm water, poor lighting, a distracted and poorly trained lifeguard and improper pool chemistry. Several Fairfax County Code violations supported our theories. Many of the witnesses were high school children from Texas so we travelled to Texas to take their depositions. Our experts included a cardiologist, a pathologist, a water safety expert and a coroner. The case settled after mediation with a retired judge.
